Welcome...

Comets Badminton Club is one of the largest and most successful badminton clubs in Hertfordshire with a total membership of over sixty. It is a sociable but competitive badminton club which was established in 1979 at Gosling Stadium in Welwyn and moved to Hertfordshire Sports Village (HSV) in Hatfield in 2003.

The sports hall at HSV is built to international playing standards and only opened in September 2003. The floors are sprung wood, the courts well spaced and the ceiling very high – I don’t think anyone has managed to reach it yet! With lighting to the side of the courts and full length green curtains, the visibility is excellent. Most of our club nights and matches are played on the dedicated badminton courts with no other sport markings on the floor and permanent posts – so there’s no setting up – just turn up and play.

Badminton England regularly use our venue for their own tournaments and the lighting in all the badminton halls was upgraded in Jan 2012 in line with Badminton England's high standards.

As an inclusive badminton club we are committed to offering the opportunity to get involved in the sport at all levels and offer three different club nights, depending on standard. Details of all sessions can be found on the club sessions tab.

As well as lots of great quality Badminton, we also get together socially a few times per year and encourage all our members to participate in the social side of the club.

We currently run 9 teams in both the Herts county leagues, the South West Herts area badminton league and the Watford area badminton league.

If you are interested in joining our club, you will find all the details you need on the club sessions tab.

Thanks.
